One of my new tracks, both of which were recorded by the epic Alistair Lawrie, take a listen let me know if you like it
honey please don’t belittle your son
take credit for the things that he done
he owns the courage to make all the mistakes we all wish we’d take
for him to create, some eggs he must break
and forgive his acts in the name of true art
he still holds us both dear and close to his heart
and in his dreams he’s on canvas
he controls the landscapes
his use of light shed on our frustrations
help us see the bigger picture
sweetheart i’m proud if thats what you’ll hear
if I dont see you for most of the year
just remember sweet child
i’m always in a place
where I can look down and smile
and now im at peace
I know the meaning of love
hold my hand,
your palms sweat as I take my last breath
and in my dreams im on canvas
I control the landscapes
use of light shed on your frustrations
help you see the bigger picture
now you father has gone bought the farm
all the things he said set of alarms in my head as I lay
awake in the dead of the night as I pray
but the only answer I hear is from my own son
and now I know you are the meaning of love.
A smile between strangers can be held for an awkward length of time but can feel as natural and comfortable as making love and as calming and peaceful as the tide going out before night creeps in to shut our eyes till dawn.
It is not in our nature to smile at strangers, but a small gesture can linger in our memory long after parting ways forever.
